Dong Da District meets new soldiers preparing to join the army in 2024.

On the morning of February 20, Dong Da district organized a meeting with soldiers who had completed their military service; young people preparing to join the army in 2024.

Before the meeting and exchange, Dong Da district leaders organized for the new soldiers to offer incense and report their achievements in front of the statue of King Quang Trung at Dong Da Cultural Park.

Reporting the achievements at the Monument of King Quang Trung, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Dong Da District Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam affirmed that Dong Da youth are very proud to be born and grow up on the historical land of Dong Da, with rich tradition, culture and heroism. At the same time, they are always aware of their responsibility in the cause of building and protecting the Socialist Vietnam Fatherland.

On behalf of the youth of Dong Da district, the outstanding young people who are ready to join the army and protect the Fatherland promise before the statue of Emperor Quang Trung to be absolutely loyal to the ideal of national independence associated with socialism that the Party and Uncle Ho have chosen, to constantly strive, cultivate themselves in all aspects, and make great efforts to study, practice virtue, and train their talents.

Comply with military discipline, excellently complete assigned tasks, contribute to building the heroic Vietnam People’s Army, protecting and building the Socialist Vietnam Fatherland. Dong Da district youth vow to live, fight, work and study all their lives following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh.

At the exchange program “Glory of soldiers”, veteran delegates, military units, soldiers discharged in 2024; and young people joining the army in 2024 shared and encouraged young people who were recruited for military service to be excited to go on their way to fulfill their duties well.

With over 43 years in the military, Major General Nguyen Duc Cuong – former Deputy Commissar of the Army Academy – was a tank driver in the armored corps. He devoted his youth to fighting bravely in the Southwest battlefield and was honored to be awarded the First-class Military Exploit Order. Sharing with young people preparing to join the army, Major General Nguyen Duc Cuong said that discipline in the army is a prerequisite, new soldiers need to strictly follow military discipline and complete their tasks well.

Having grown up in the military and proudly standing in the Party’s ranks on May 19, 2023, demobilized soldier Duong Dang Khoa (born in 1997, Thinh Quang ward) said: “After two years of training at the Air Force Division 371, I have equipped myself with good health, self-confidence, and learned self-discipline. New soldiers, please be confident, practice with peace of mind, abide by military and unit discipline, do not be afraid of difficulties, be united and coordinate, and complete your tasks well”.

As one of two new female soldiers of Dong Da district in 2024, Le Linh Chi (Lang Thuong ward) wrote an application to join the army, following the family tradition of 3 generations joining the army. Linh Chi believes that every young person, regardless of male or female, has the responsibility to fulfill their military service and join the army. This is both an honor and a duty and responsibility to the country.

In his encouraging speech, Secretary of Dong Da District Party Committee Dinh Truong Tho commended and congratulated the young people who had completed their military service and the outstanding young people of 21 wards and 6 agencies and units of Dong Da district who had passed the military service to join the army in 2024, fulfilling the sacred and noble duty of citizens.

The Secretary of Dong Da District Party Committee said that in 2024, Dong Da district was assigned the target of selecting and calling 105 citizens to join the army and currently, 107 young people have received orders to join the army (reaching 102% of the target assigned by the City). Among them, 76 new soldiers have university, college and intermediate degrees, and 50 young people volunteered to write applications to join the army; There are 92 new soldiers who have participated in training party subjects and 3 new soldiers have been honored to be admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The District Party Secretary hopes that the young young who are joining the army will uphold and promote the traditions of the thousand-year-old civilized and heroic Capital, the traditions of the Capital’s armed forces and the heroic traditions of Dong Da District, and prepare their minds and stances to embark on their missions to protect the Fatherland. Strive, overcome difficulties, study and practice hard, be ready to receive and excellently complete all assigned tasks.

At the program, the Organizing Committee presented gifts to 73 young people who completed their military service in 2024; commended and presented gifts to 107 outstanding young people who will join the army.
