Emperor Quang Trung or Bac Binh Vuong, real name Nguyen Hue, was born in 1753 in Tay Son village, Phu Ly district, Quy Nhon prefecture, today Kien My Village, Tay Son district, Binh Dinh province. From an outstanding peasant leader, Quang Trung – Nguyen Hue became a great national hero, a military genius, and a famous general with many victories: – At the age of 18 (1771), he and his brother Nguyen Nhac raised the flag of rebellion in Tay Son land.- At the age of 22 (1775), he won the battle of Phu Yen, starting a military career full of victories.

– From age 24 to 30 (1777 – 1783) participated in major attacks on Gia Dinh, overthrowing Lord Nguyen. Defeating Nguyen and destroying Trinh erased the Gianh River boundary that divided the country for over 200 years
